Thirsting for relief? Soothe with Touch

During December my Thirsty Thursday topic focuses on self-soothing techniques.  Soothe to manage pain, to minimize stress, to improve your mood, and to enhance your sleep.

Touch is fundamental and necessary to soothe away hurt, for comfort, and for healing.  Even if you spend most of your time alone as I do -- touch should be an important part of your routine.  From self-massage to a friendly hug to caring for pets to regular therapeutic massages, prioritize and integrate touch into your life.  You will feel better.

Are you a local Tribe member?  Contact me to schedule Reiki, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, or Therapeutic Massage.

Soothe in December...OO is for 'Om'

How do you wind down, relax, and de-stress?  Do you take a nap?  Pencil in some quiet time?  Spend time in nature?  All are terrific options.  Meditation is a practice that can deepen your relaxation, soothe your mind, and heal body and spirit.  You can meditate anytime and anywhere.  Whether you are new to meditation or are well-versed in your meditative practice, may I suggest adding visuals and chants?

Visit Jonathan Goldman's website, Temple of Sacred Sound. His interactive space offers 4 different toning chambers alongside spectacular kaleidoscope imagery, my favorite toning chamber is 'Om'.  Give yourself at least 5-10 minutes and Soothe today.

Degenerative disease can be avoided...

Nathan Pritkin offered extensive research beginning in the 1970's, telling us that nutrition can beat disease and promise longevity.  Pritkin reports that coronary heart disease, angina, diabetes, arthritis, glaucoma, hypertension, gout, and some cancers are entirely avoidable.  Avoidable.

The price to pay for health?  Return to simpler foods and live a more active existence.  Meaning eat well on a diet of whole foods and exercise regularly.  Head over to my resource page and review detailed literature about restoring health and preventing disease with food and simple activity like daily walking.  Be enlightened and apply the suggestions in your day to day living.  See for yourself how good you can feel.

Read Pritkin's, Review of Medical Literature on Relationships of Various Degenerative Diseases to Diet and Activity, published October 1988.  A page or two can change how you view mealtime.

Be Well.
