Make the time

My Thirsty Thursday message is about anticipation.  Fall is a season bringing great change.  We feel it in the air - on our skin - some of us in our bones.  I meet a new orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to establish a new medical relationship...my wonderful surgeon had moved to San Diego and I have been 'doctor shopping'.

I need a check-up, meaning time for x-rays and the inside view telling me that all is well with my bionic buddies.  I do feel a teensy bit of fear that my morning meditation can mellow and soothe.  Are you taking the time to check in with your physician and manage your conditions?  Make the time, you're worth it.
Be Well,

Rejuvenate with self-care...

Leaves are falling, the days are shortening, and mornings are becoming cooler.  This is the time of year that my body calls for warmth inside and out.  To keep out the chill I layer myself in sweaters, boots, and shawls.  I warm my belly with hot tea, thick soups, and spicy noodle dishes.  I receive massage, get facials, and soak in Epsom baths.

Fall is when I increase my pampering and self-care.  Dark days and chills in the air are two messages asking me to increase my sleep, and rejuvenate during the winter months.  Are you investing enough time in self-care to manage your health?  Soothe is one of my key concepts to living well - to encourage you to partake I'm offering discounted Reiki & Reflexology sessions now through the end of November.  Book an appointment this month and I will add a 7-day custom meal plan as an added FREE bonus.

A chill in the air...

Cooler weather and varying temperatures are when I feel an increase in aches and pains.  For me, this is my "creaky" time when my body requires extra care.  Yesterday I worked outside during an early snowfall in Park City, it was beautiful plus added extra ouch to my afternoon.  My evening soothe methods included Epsom gel on my hips and low back, a warm spicy dinner, and yoga before bed.

Are your chronic health conditions affected by the seasons?  If so, how are you preparing for any weather related symptoms?  Would you like ideas to better manage pain that increases during cold weather?  I would love to chat with you.  Contact me and schedule a FREE 30-minute consultation.  Let's talk.

Be Well,

The thirst for wholeness...

What is wholeness?  During my morning meditation I reflect on Joan Borysenko's definition,"Wholeness is the graciousness with which we escape our shadow - not in complacency, but with the humility to engage our evil twin consciously, so that we can withdraw from the battles it will otherwise create."

My evil twin can sabotage my success, lead me towards complacency, and clutter my mind with negativity.  These mental battles create a nonsensical chatter I call monkey mind.  Meditation quiets this chatter and my evil twin is on a short leash.  Healthy aging is better understanding your highest self and your darkest self.  Take a moment today and consider how you engage with your evil twin, your shadow self.  Soothe, nourish, and give yourself the rest you need and avoid creating battles.

Be Well.

A fall embrace...

Thirsty Thursday falls on the Autumnal Equinox today.  Outside my office window this morning I see red, orange, and yellow leaves amongst the pines.  It is a cool, rainy morning here in the Rockies and the air is delicious.  Leaving summer behind I do feel a bit blue that warm days are to be replaced by temperatures that cause me to ache.  This is a reminder for me to prepare for slippery sidewalks, creaky joints, and frizzy hair days.

Planning ahead I wear my rain boots, find my thermals, say yes to hats, and look forward to tasty soups and stews to keep me nourished and warm.  By embracing the seasons we can better reflect a healthy aging mindset.  Keep it simple - Soothe - Nourish - Rest.

Be Well,

Tiffany

Winning Attitudes

My Thirsty Thursday thought for today is from Rebecca Pace, a guest speaker I am hearing while attending a health conference today.  Rebecca's topic is having a 'Winning Attitude'.  This dynamic lady gifted the audience with 5 guiding questions to ask yourself...

1. What do I want?
2. What am I willing to do to get what I want?
3. How will I know when I have what I want?
4. When I get what I want, what am I willing to do to keep it?
5. If I can't have what I want what is my back up want?

Thought provoking questions.  Take time and consider your answers, they may lead you in a surprising direction.

Be well and be good to yourself this week!
