Food is medicine, powerful medicine. Food either nourishes and builds health, or can be the cause of our ills. One of my health heroes is Dr. John McDougall. After watching the documentary, Forks Over Knives, and reading The China Study I switched to a starch-based vegan diet. I experienced significant health benefits besides weight loss. I lowered my cholesterol, stabilized liver enzymes, stopped using blood pressure medication, managed my inflammatory pain, and I am sleeping better than I have in decades.
Good health is 80-90% diet and the rest is exercise, stress management, and moderate sunshine. Do genetics play a role? Of course. We have control over our health and as the Forks Over Knives documentary points out, the state of your health rests at the tip of your fork. Every day, every meal, every bite, you choose how you feel with the foods you eat. Head to my resource page to learn about how to better nourish yourself. Dine well my friends!
Be Well,
Tiffany
