Food can be an empowering friend or a sabotaging foe, especially when you are living with one or more chronic conditions. Food is powerful medicine…some foods can restore health while other foods can be harmful.  Nourish is a key concept I cherish and invest in to manage my own conditions.

Success Story - How Jaundice and Joint Replacement led Tiffany Anderson to The Starch Solution

I offer my Nourish philosophy and resources on this page.

My current meal plan evolved over time. Concepts I had been taught weren't working for me. Education, trial and error, my health status, and maturity led me to discovering The McDougall Program. I then dramatically changed my way of eating. I feel terrific, and am a lean 58-year-old woman.

Peek at the slide show below to see a few examples of how deliciously I dine! Starch based eating is hardly boring!

My weight climbed 10 pounds every decade after leaving high school ... regardless of my fitness routine or 'diet' I practiced. I attributed weight gain to pregnancy, stress, lifestyle change, medication side effects, age, and later to menopause. Part of me felt this weight gain was inevitable.

The life events I experienced can lead to weight gain, though they don't have to. A healthy weight can be managed and maintained. Choices were available to me and found that the changes I wanted were possible. After my hip replacement surgeries I watched the film, Forks Over Knives, and then read the book, The Starch Solution by Dr. John McDougall. These resources were life-changing for me and opened doors that further improved my health. I have discovered a way of eating and dietary lifestyle that I enjoy and have maintained. I encourage you to watch the film Forks Over Knives and/or read The Starch Solution. I am in charge of my health. I have the ability to improve my health to the best of my ability and achieve the results I desire.

You might be like me and have tried many diets and crazy meal plans over the years. Why not look into Forks Over Knives and The Starch Solution? Click the links below and educate yourself. What do you have to lose besides excess weight and poor health?

Food is lovely and pleasurable. Food is also a powerful tool necessary for good health and well-being. Feed yourself wisely and you’ll feel amazing. My motto is simple—eat what you want and accept the consequences.   Keep reading...accountability is important!

Food can be an empowering friend or a sabotaging foe, especially when you are living with one or more chronic conditions. Some foods restore health while other foods can be harmful.  Nourish is a key concept I focus heavily on to manage my own conditions.  To nourish means that we are fueling our bodies, providing ourselves with nutrients that can change our health. Sound complicated? It doesn’t need to be.  Meal planning is a skill that can help you improve your diet, dine well, and save both time and money.

Our bodies are very intelligent and often provide quick feedback based on what we eat. Uncomfortable messages are similar to the engine warning lights you see in your car.  Do you experience...

  • Heartburn or indigestion?

  • Food intolerance or food tasting bland?

  • Constipation or bloating after eating?

These are wake-up calls.  Your body wants better fuel. Improving your health begins in the kitchen – small additions can bring great rewards.
